Rigoletto Costume Design

This project I tasked myself with bringing new life into the costumes of one of my favorite operas, Rigoletto. I designed and illustrated costume for the main cast of characters. As the court jester, Rigoletto’s job is to entertain the Duke of Mantua, usually at the expense of powerful members of the court. When he is cursed for a taunt that cuts too deep, a terrible sequence of events is set in motion, threatening his only treasure in life: his daughter. His words are as sharp as blades, but when it comes to dissuading his daughter from running off with an adulterous duke, the jester Rigoletto finds himself powerless.
