Let me introduce myself. My name is Leo. I was born and raised in sunny Los Angeles. I am an illustrator and educator in training! My illustration work takes a lot of inspiration from local California wildlife, art history, music, and my experiences in life. I work in a variety of mediums, and I combine the organic elements of traditional paints with digital tools. My illustration practice strongly impacts my work as a teacher, where I develop lessons centered around world art history and experimental media. My educational philosophy centers around creating an interdisciplinary art classroom where students of all skill levels can recognize the importance of having a personal artistic practice. I love to share my passion with other educators and show how art can go beyond the art classroom and be integrated into core subjects. I developed my skills while studying at the Maryland Institute College of Art, where I received a thorough education in a variety of art practices, art history, and contemporary writing.
